Northeast Washington Trip Planner
Welcome to Northeast Washington!
Known as the Rocky Mountain Gateway, Northeastern Washington is full of outdoor activities and sightseeing opportunities that are unique to this area of the country. Omak, one of the larger centers in the area, boasts all the amenities that travelers need while on the road, from accommodations to restaurants and shopping. Pioneer history is abundant in this part of Washington, with attractions such as the Kettle Falls Interpretive Center giving visitors a glimpse into the lives and labors of the country's early settlers. The trails that these settlers established can still be traveled, leading visitors into the vast mountain wilderness for unparalleled camping and hiking. Colville National Forest offers just over one million acres of protected forestland that is used for backcountry adventures and outdoor recreation. The Colville Indian Reservation is also located in Northeastern Washington and is home to the Colville Indian Agency, an organization centered on preserving the American Indian culture that helped to shape Washington.
